| The Yeno SC-3000H was a European variant of SEGA’s SC-3000H home computer, distributed primarily in France under the Yeno brand during the mid-1980s. Despite the rebranding, the machine was functionally identical to the original SEGA SC-3000H, featuring the same hardware and compatibility with the SG-1000 game library. The “H” model denoted the inclusion of a mechanical keyboard, which made it far more suitable for serious computing tasks than the base SC-3000 with its rubber chiclet keys. The Yeno version retained the cartridge slot for games and software, and supported cassette-based loading, which was common in European markets. Bundled with a BASIC cartridge (such as “BASIC Level III-B”), the Yeno SC-3000H was marketed as both an educational tool and an entertainment device. Its strong compatibility with SEGA’s early game catalog gave it an edge as a hybrid system in a time when many home computers struggled to match console-quality graphics. Although it didn’t reach widespread popularity, the Yeno SC-3000H remains a distinctive piece of European SEGA history — and a rare find for collectors today. |
