Epoch TV Baseball

Epoch TV Baseball is a dedicated home video game console released by Epoch Co., Ltd. in Japan in August 1978. It is one of Japan’s earliest home video game consoles and was designed to capitalize on the country’s passion for baseball.

The system features a built-in game of baseball that can be played by two players: one controls the pitcher using the console’s buttons, while the other uses a detachable controller with a single fire button to control the batter. All other controls, such as pitch selection, are integrated into the main console. The console is powered by a custom microprocessor developed jointly by Epoch and NEC, the uPD77xx series, marking it as Epoch’s first console to employ a microprocessor.
