Hanimex Programmable Video System

The Hanimex HMG‑1392 Advanced Programmable Video System, released around 1979, is a second-generation cartridge-based console derived from the 1292 APVS architecture licensed by Radofin. This European/Australasian model differs from the earlier 1292 variant primarily by featuring an internal power supply and a revised casing.

The console is powered by an 8-bit Signetics 2650A CPU at approximately 0.887 MHz and a Signetics 2636N video co-processor at 3.58 MHz. It offers minimal RAM (around 43 bytes) and uses removable 2–6 KB ROM cartridges to introduce game logic and graphics. Gameplay visuals include up to four monochrome sprites (one sprite can appear in eight colors), a four-digit score line, and alternating-line background effects. Audio output consists of a single square-wave tone channel.
