| The Philips ES 2207 Travemünde, also called Tele‑Spiel, is a first-generation Pong console released by Philips in Germany in 1977. It is a cost-reduced variant of the ES 2203 Las Vegas model and uses the General Instruments AY‑3‑8500 chip for four built-in Pong-style games. Unlike other models in the series, it offered no internal speaker, routing all sound through the television, and did not support an external light gun. The console is powered by a 7.6 V supply and outputs video through RF. This model was the fourth in the Tele‑Spiel series, which included six consoles released between 1975 and 1978 under various names in different countries. The Travemünde version was positioned as the budget option in that lineup. Its simple design, paddle-style controls, and monochrome display reflected its aim to be an affordable entry into home video gaming. |
