Sega Dreamcast Yukawa Edition

The Sega Dreamcast Yukawa Edition is not a unique console model, but rather a themed packaging variant issued in Japan during the 1998 launch. The consoles themselves are standard white Dreamcast units (model HKT-3000) with no visible alterations or special decals.

What makes this edition stand out are the box designs featuring Hidekazu Yukawa, Sega of Japan’s managing director, whose humorous and self-deprecating TV commercials turned him into a cult marketing figure. The original “Yukawa box” came in an orange-themed version depicting his likeness on multiple sides, aligning with the initial launch. A later white-themed box—used in places like Toyota dealerships—featured a single large image of Yukawa on the back. Both boxes included the regular console, controller, cables, and the Dream Passport disc.
