SNK Neo Geo AES

The Neo Geo AES (Advanced Entertainment System), released by SNK in 1990, was a home video game console designed to bring the arcade experience into the living room. It used the same hardware as the Neo Geo MVS arcade system, offering arcade-perfect ports of games with superior graphics and sound compared to other consoles of its era.

The AES featured a large cartridge format, with games often identical to their arcade counterparts, making it popular among hardcore gamers and collectors. It supported two controller ports and featured a distinctive black and gold design.

Despite its high price point and niche market, the Neo Geo AES became renowned for its extensive library of fighting games, including titles like “Fatal Fury,” “The King of Fighters,” and “Samurai Shodown.” Its powerful hardware and arcade authenticity earned it a cult following, though limited commercial success compared to mainstream consoles.
