| The PlayStation 3 Slim White was a color variation of the standard PS3 Slim model, first released in Japan in 2010 and later in select European markets. Technically identical to the black PS3 Slim, it featured the same reduced-size chassis, improved energy efficiency, and matte finish, but came in a glossy “Classic White” casing with a matching white DualShock 3 controller. Depending on the region, the White PS3 Slim was available in various storage capacities, most commonly 160GB and 320GB. It retained all standard features of the Slim model, including Blu-ray playback, HDMI output, Wi-Fi connectivity, and access to the PlayStation Network. As with all Slim units, it lacked backward compatibility with PlayStation 2 titles but supported original PlayStation games via digital download or disc. The white variant was initially intended to appeal to style-conscious users and stood out from the typical black electronics common at the time. While the internal hardware remained unchanged, the limited availability and unique appearance have made the PS3 Slim White a sought-after model among collectors and enthusiasts. |
