The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP-1001) is the first model in Sony’s handheld PlayStation line, released in 2004. It features a 5-inch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 480 × 272 pixels, capable of displaying 16.77 million colors.

The system is powered by a 333 MHz MIPS R4000-based CPU and includes 32 MB of RAM, allowing for 3D graphics performance similar to the PlayStation 2 in scaled-down form. The PSP uses Universal Media Discs (UMDs) for games and movies, as well as a Memory Stick Duo slot for storage and multimedia content.

The console has built-in stereo speakers and headphone support, and supports Wi-Fi connectivity for multiplayer and internet browsing. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, providing roughly 4–6 hours of gameplay depending on screen brightness and usage.
