Sony PSP 1004

Name: Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP-1004 Black)
Type: Console
Manufacturer: Sony Computer Entertainment
Platform: PlayStation Portable
Release year: 2005

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP-1004 Black) is a revision of the original PSP-1000 series, released in 2005. It features the same 5-inch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 480 × 272 pixels and support for 16.77 million colors, but includes minor hardware refinements and improved power efficiency compared to the PSP-1001.

The system retains the 333 MHz MIPS R4000-based CPU and 32 MB of RAM, along with support for UMD games and movies and the Memory Stick Duo for additional storage. It continues to provide Wi-Fi connectivity, multimedia playback for music, video, and photos, and the classic PlayStation button layout adapted for handheld use.

One of the main changes in the PSP-1004 is slightly improved battery life and a small reduction in overall weight, making it more portable. The console was released in black, distinguishing it from the original white and silver variants, and has the same sleek, slim form factor that defined the PSP’s design.

The PSP-1004 maintains the same multimedia and gaming functionality as the original PSP-1001, while offering minor refinements in efficiency and ergonomics for an improved user experience.
