Ghostbusters blends arcade action with strategic resource management. You drive the Ecto-1 across a New York city map, responding to ghost sightings and entering buildings to trap spectral entities. Between missions, funds are managed to equip better gear and expand capabilities. The gameplay alternates between driving, on-foot ghost capturing, and ghost-busting missions within buildings. The CPC Ricochet edition preserves these core mechanics but suffers notable slowdown during intense action scenes on the Amstrad version. Despite technical compromises, it retains the film theme music (in karaoke-style lyrics) and speech samples that contribute to its nostalgic charm.
