Stargate is the home computer adaptation of the arcade sequel to Defender, developed by Vid Kidz and originally released by Williams Electronics in 1981. The Apple II port was published by Atarisoft in 1983. In this version, the player pilots a ship over a horizontally scrolling landscape, defending humanoids from alien abductors known as Landers and mutants. New features include an Inviso cloaking device granting temporary invulnerability, and a Stargate that teleports the player to rescue humanoids or advance levels. Gameplay includes a radar display indicating enemy and humanoid positions
