Genre: Naval combat
Developer: Palladium
Publisher: Palladium
Year: 1978
Platform: Palladium Video Computer Game

Seeschlacht is a cartridge release for the Palladium Video Computer Game, a German clone of the Emerson Arcadia 2001 hardware family. The title translates to “Sea Battle” and, as the name suggests, it focuses on naval combat scenarios where players maneuver ships in direct conflict.

The game was one of Palladium’s localized adaptations of software distributed across various Arcadia-compatible systems. Like other titles in the library, Seeschlacht featured simple graphics and straightforward controls designed for competitive two-player play. The ships are represented by blocky sprites moving across a static sea background, with players attempting to position themselves strategically while firing at the opponent.

Gameplay emphasizes positioning and timing, with limited projectile speed requiring prediction of the opponent’s movement. The mechanics are based on earlier home console naval titles, where tactical maneuvering and anticipation played a central role in victory.
