Genre: Maze chase
Developer: Atari
Publisher: Atari
Year: 1983
System: Atari 5200

Pac-Man is a maze chase game developed and published by Atari, Inc. for the Atari 5200 in 1982. It is a home port of Namco’s 1980 arcade classic, featuring the same gameplay where players control Pac-Man as he navigates a maze, consuming dots while avoiding colorful ghosts.

The objective is to eat all the dots in the maze while avoiding the four ghosts: Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde. Power pellets located in the corners of the maze temporarily turn the ghosts blue, allowing Pac-Man to eat them for extra points. Eating all dots in a maze advances to the next level, with increasing difficulty as the game progresses.

The Atari 5200 version features enhanced graphics and smoother animation compared to earlier home ports, providing a more faithful arcade experience. The game supports both single-player and alternating two-player modes, utilizing the Atari 5200’s analog joystick for precise control.
