Description:
Attack at EP‑CYG‑4 is a side‑scrolling shooter created by Mike Edwards and released for the Atari 8‑bit in 1982. Players pilot an eight‑directional flying‑saucer-type ship through multiple “sectors,” advancing left‑to‑right and wrapping to new screens. The ship disables its shields during fire, and the player controls a crosshair to aim and shoot lyso‑blasts at enemy installations, aircraft, and incoming projectiles. Shields regenerate when the fire button is released. The game features three mission sets with adjustable difficulty levels (A–C) and supports two-player cooperative mode—player one handles movement/shields, player two controls aiming/firing. It runs on a 16 KB cartridge (ROM) and was also distributed on disk. Advancing to the next sector requires destroying all active enemies in the current one.
