Description:
Ballblazer is a futuristic sports-action game developed by Lucasfilm Games and released for the Atari 8‑bit family by Epyx in 1985. Players pilot a hovercraft called a “rotofoil” in one-on-one matches, aiming to score points by carrying or shooting a plasma ball (Plasmorb) into a moving goal. The game features first-person split-screen gameplay for two players and several computer difficulty levels available in single-player mode. It utilizes smooth 3D graphics with procedurally generated soundtrack and dynamic physics including acceleration and inertia. Scoring can be one, two, or three points depending on goal distance, and matches end when one player reaches ten points or time expires, often triggering sudden-death scenarios. This is the XEGS version released by Atari in 1987
