Description:
Bandits is a fixed-screen shooter originally developed by Tony & Benny Ngo and first released for Apple II, then ported to the Atari 8-bit family in 1982 by Sirius Software. The player controls a laser cannon at the bottom of the screen, tasked with defending lunar supplies depicted as fruit from waves of alien invaders that land and attempt to steal them. A limited-use shield can be activated for temporary invulnerability. The game includes 28 increasingly difficult levels, each concluding with bonus points awarded and an extra life every 5,000 points. Controls support joystick or keyboard input, with joystick allowing forward motion to trigger the shield.
