Dropzone is a fast-paced side‑scrolling shooter developed by Archer Maclean and released by U.S. Gold for the Atari 8‑bit in 1984. Taking place on Jupiter’s moon Io, players pilot a jet‑pack-equipped spaceman with a laser, cloaking device, and smart bombs. Your mission is to rescue stranded scientists while fending off alien forces.

Enemies include various alien types—slow-moving Planters, aggressive Nemesites, and other hostile creatures.
