Intruder is an action-puzzle game set in a secret research and development installation in the nation’s capital. The installation is powered by four small nuclear fusion reactors located in a sub-level known as the “hot room.” These reactors are maintained by two dedicated robo-units designed to operate autonomously without human intervention. The robots not only perform maintenance but also act as a security force that permanently eliminates any intruders.

Following a major earthquake that causes chaos in the “hot room,” the classified file cases stored there have been scattered, and the reactors are overheating, risking a meltdown. The robo-units have become unresponsive to control signals and continue their hostile behavior.

The player controls a newly programmed robot whose mission is to shut down each overheating reactor by moving next to them using a joystick. The player must avoid contact with the hostile robo-units while completing this task. Additionally, the player can capture the malfunctioning robots by maneuvering scattered file cases to trap them, reducing the mission completion time. Successful shutdown and containment allow human technicians to safely service the reactors and prevent a disaster.
