Owari & Bull and Cow is a cassette-based compilation released by Thorn EMI in 1982 for the Atari 8-bit family of computers. The title combines two distinct gameplay experiences on a single tape: a digital adaptation of the traditional board game Owari (also known as Awari or Mancala) and a second game called Bull and Cow, which presents a number-based puzzle somewhat akin to the classic “Bulls and Cows” logic game.
Owari allows one or two players to move seeds around pits, aiming to capture more seeds than the opponent via classic Mancala rules. Bull and Cow offers a solo experience where the player must guess a secret number, receiving hints in the form of “bulls” (correct digit in the correct place) or “cows” (correct digit in the wrong place).
