Rampage is an action game developed by Activision UK and Software Studios and published by Activision in 1987 for the Atari 8-bit family of computers. It is a home conversion of the 1986 arcade game originally created by Bally Midway.
In Rampage, players control one of three giant monsters—George the gorilla, Lizzy the lizard, or Ralph the werewolf—as they destroy cities across North America. The gameplay involves climbing buildings, smashing structures, fighting off military forces such as tanks and helicopters, and consuming humans or food items to restore health. The game supports up to three players taking turns.
The Atari 8-bit version features side-scrolling levels with fixed screens representing various urban locations. While it captures the core gameplay mechanics of the arcade original, the port exhibits simplified graphics and sound due to hardware limitations of the platform.
