Rescue on Fractalus! is a space combat simulator developed by Lucasfilm Games and published by Epyx for the Atari 8-bit family in 1985. The game was one of the first titles from Lucasfilm’s fledgling computer games division and showcased innovative 3D graphics for the time.

In the game, players pilot a space fighter over the surface of the alien planet Fractalus, with the primary mission of rescuing stranded pilots. The terrain is procedurally generated using fractal algorithms, creating realistic mountainous landscapes. Players must navigate these terrains, avoid enemy defenses, and land to pick up the pilots before returning to the mothership.

The Atari 8-bit version features first-person 3D graphics, a variety of instruments such as a compass, altimeter, and scanner, and a dynamic day-night cycle that affects gameplay. The game is known for its atmospheric tension, particularly due to the appearance of alien creatures disguised as pilots, which can create startling moments.
