Genre: Breakout
Developer: Larry Kaplan
Publisher: Atari
Year: 1979
System: Atari 8-bit

Super Breakout is an enhanced version of the classic Breakout, developed by Larry Kaplan and released by Atari, Inc. for the Atari 8-bit family in 1979. The game builds upon the original concept of using a paddle to bounce a ball into a wall of bricks, with the objective of breaking all the bricks to advance to the next level.

The Atari 8-bit version of Super Breakout supports up to two players alternating turns, utilizing paddle controllers for precise control. The game offers four distinct game variations:

Progressive: The brick wall gradually moves downward, increasing in speed, while new layers of bricks appear at the top.

Breakout: The classic mode, featuring a single ball and paddle.

Double: Players control two paddles simultaneously, one above the other, with two balls in play.

Cavity: Similar to Double, but with one ball initially in play and two additional balls trapped within the brick wall, which are freed as the surrounding bricks are destroyed.
