Electrocop

Genre: Action / Shooter

Year: 1989
System: Atari Lynx

Electrocop is a third-person shooter and one of the first games developed for the Atari Lynx. The player assumes the role of a high-tech cyborg operative tasked with infiltrating a fortress and rescuing a kidnapped individual.

Gameplay takes place across a series of corridors rendered with a pseudo-3D perspective. Enemies range from robots to laser turrets, and the player can switch between weapons and tools. In a unique twist, Electrocop includes mini-games accessible through in-game terminals.

As one of the launch titles for the Lynx, it showcases early experimentation with perspective and screen scaling. Its futuristic setting and varied gameplay elements made it a notable early example of action games on handhelds.
