Llamazap is an action game consisting of 25 stages where the player controls a heavily armed llama tasked with destroying invading alien hordes and protecting innocent herbivores. Gameplay primarily involves piloting a spaceship over a bi-directionally scrolling planet, but players frequently exit the ship to engage in direct tentacle-to-hoof combat with enemies.
The objective is to progress through the levels, culminating in a final boss battle to save the galaxy and secure safety for ungulates everywhere. Along the journey, players can earn extra points by rescuing abducted livestock, saving dolphins, and recovering lost llamas.
