Air-Sea Battle is a shooter video game released by Atari, Inc. for the Atari VCS in 1977. It is one of the early launch titles for the system and offers multiple game modes that center on shooting targets both in the air and at sea.
The game features twenty-seven different variations grouped into categories like Anti-Aircraft, Torpedo, Shooting Gallery, Polaris vs. Bomber, Bomber, and others. In most modes, the player controls either a gun or a ship, shooting at incoming planes or ships. Some modes allow control over firing angle or speed; others include obstacles or automated motion of player vehicles.
Rounds typically last two minutes and sixteen seconds. The goal in each mode is to score as many points as possible by hitting targets, either against a second player or against a computer opponent that fires continuously without strategic behavior. In two-player modes, players compete to hit more targets within the allotted time.
