Year: 1982
Platform: ColecoVision

Destructor is a vehicular action game developed by Byte Size and published by Coleco for the ColecoVision console in 1982. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic environment where the player controls an armored vehicle called the RamCar, tasked with collecting and transporting crystals while fending off hostile creatures. The gameplay takes place across large, scrolling playfields rather than fixed screens, making it one of the more expansive titles in the ColecoVision library for its time.

The player must navigate maze-like terrain, locate crystals, and bring them back to a central base. Along the way, various alien creatures attack, and the RamCar must either avoid or destroy them using its mounted weaponry. The crystals are bulky, slowing down movement and making the player more vulnerable to enemy attacks, adding a strategic layer to gameplay.

Destructor was one of the few ColecoVision titles designed specifically to use the Expansion Module #2 steering wheel controller, offering more precise control over the vehicle. This feature was marketed as a unique selling point and contributed to the game’s distinctiveness within the system’s lineup.
