Gorf is a space shooter game developed by Midway and published by CBS Electronics for the ColecoVision console in 1982. It is an arcade port of the 1981 arcade game known for its multi-stage gameplay and distinctive synthesized speech. Players pilot a spaceship and must defeat waves of enemy ships across several different stages, each featuring unique enemy patterns and challenges.

The gameplay consists of five different stages, including classic shoot ’em up sequences and more strategic shooting challenges. Players must destroy enemy formations, avoid incoming fire, and progress through stages that increase in speed and difficulty. Gorf is notable for its innovative use of voice synthesis, providing taunts and status updates during gameplay.

The ColecoVision version replicates much of the arcade game’s structure, with colorful graphics and smooth animations within the console’s technical limitations. The distinctive speech synthesis is simplified but present, adding to the immersive experience. The game supports single-player and two-player alternating modes.
