Colors: Pre Release Demo is a prototype of an ambitious open-world action game for the Gizmondo. Developed by Indie Studios and intended for full release in 2006, the demo version circulated before the console’s discontinuation. Only the demo is publicly known to exist.
Set in a stylized urban environment, Colors allows the player to explore a sandbox city, engage in gang-related missions, and interact with AI pedestrians. The third-person camera and cel-shaded visual style aimed to differentiate it from other portable action titles of its time.
Though the game featured driving mechanics, weapons, and side missions, the demo limits access to a small portion of the map with some test features. Despite its limited scope, it hinted at a level of ambition rarely seen on handheld systems of the era.
The full game was never released due to the commercial failure of the Gizmondo, making Colors one of the most notable “lost” titles from the platform.
