Triple Action is an action video game released for the Intellivision in 1981. Developed by APh Technological Consulting and published by Mattel Electronics, the game offers three distinct arcade-style experiences: Racing Cars, Battle Tanks, and Biplanes.
In Racing Cars, players race side-by-side down a highway, dodging traffic to reach 100 miles first. Battle Tanks pits players against each other in tank combat, where they can hide behind cover and choose between long-range or short-range bullets. Biplanes involves aerial dogfights, with players aiming to shoot down balloons or their opponent’s plane to score points.
The game was originally conceived as a six-in-one collection inspired by Atari 2600 games, under the working title “Some of Theirs.” However, due to concerns over potential legal issues with Atari, two games were removed before release, and the title was changed to Triple Action.
