BioShock 2 is a first-person shooter set in the dystopian underwater city of Rapture, continuing the narrative introduced in the original BioShock. Developed by 2K Marin and released in 2010 for Xbox 360, the game introduces new gameplay mechanics and a fresh perspective on Rapture’s decline.
Players assume the role of Subject Delta, a prototype Big Daddy, as he searches for Eleanor, a Little Sister he was bonded with years earlier. The game takes place ten years after the events of the first game and explores themes of control, identity, and free will through its story-driven campaign.
Gameplay combines shooting mechanics with the use of Plasmids—genetic modifications that grant powers like telekinesis, electricity, or fire. Dual-wielding weapons and Plasmids adds a tactical layer to combat, allowing for more dynamic encounters.
The Xbox 360 version includes a multiplayer component set before the fall of Rapture, where players take on the role of test subjects participating in civil war scenarios. Various modes such as Team Deathmatch and Capture the Sister are available, offering additional replay value.
