Bully: Scholarship Edition

Genre: Action-adventure
Developer: Rockstar New England
Publisher: Rockstar Games
Year: 2008
Platform: Xbox 360

Bully: Scholarship Edition is an enhanced re-release of the original Bully, bringing the schoolyard action-adventure experience to the Xbox 360 with additional content and improved presentation. Players step into the role of Jimmy Hopkins, a rebellious teenager sent to the fictional Bullworth Academy, where he must navigate cliques, complete schoolwork, and rise through the ranks of the student body.

The core gameplay blends open-world exploration with structured missions, much like the Grand Theft Auto series but within a boarding school setting. Activities include attending classes, engaging in side tasks, and taking on various student factions through pranks and brawls. The game features a day-night cycle and a calendar system that governs classes and events.

The Xbox 360 version includes all content from the original PlayStation 2 release, plus new missions, characters, classes (such as Math and Biology), and unlockable items. The visuals were also updated, with higher resolution textures and improved lighting effects compared to the earlier version.

Despite some initial technical issues upon release, later updates addressed many performance concerns. The Xbox 360 version supports Achievements and features a two-player offline mini-game mode, expanding the gameplay options slightly beyond the original single-player scope.

Bully: Scholarship Edition maintains the satirical tone and character-driven storytelling of Rockstar’s other titles, offering a unique take on adolescent rebellion and social dynamics within an academic setting.
