Genre: First-person shooter
Developer: High Moon Studios
Publisher: Activision
Year: 2014
Platform: Xbox 360

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – Day Zero Edition is a special release of the 2014 title Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. It provided players who pre-ordered the game with early access one day before the global launch, as well as bonus digital content such as exclusive weapons and customization options. The core game remains identical to the standard edition, focusing on a futuristic military setting dominated by powerful private military corporations.

The campaign follows Jack Mitchell, a U.S. Marine turned private contractor, as he becomes involved in conflicts driven by advanced technology and corporate warfare. Equipped with an exoskeleton suit, players gain enhanced mobility, strength, and agility, allowing for new combat dynamics. The Xbox 360 version was developed by High Moon Studios, who adapted the main Sledgehammer Games version for older hardware.

Despite being technically less advanced than the versions for newer consoles, the Xbox 360 edition retains the same missions, story content, and gameplay mechanics. Graphical fidelity and performance were scaled down to suit the platform, but the overall experience remained consistent with the series’ established standards.

Reception for the game was largely positive, with critics praising its high production values, engaging campaign, and refined multiplayer systems. However, some reviewers noted that the campaign was relatively short and that the gameplay structure remained close to earlier series entries.

The Day Zero Edition distinguishes itself mainly through its early access release and included bonus items, making it a noteworthy variant for collectors rather than a fundamentally different version of the game.
