At night, illegal street races offer reputation points needed to progress through the story, but they also attract the attention of an aggressive police force. Getting caught after a night race can result in losing rep and paying fines, creating a high-risk, high-reward system.
The game emphasizes vehicle customization, allowing players to fine-tune both performance and visual aspects of their cars. A wide variety of licensed vehicles from major manufacturers is included, and players can personalize liveries, body kits, and engine parts.
