The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for Xbox One is an asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game based on the iconic 1974 horror film of the same name. Developed by Sumo Nottingham and published by Gun Interactive, the game pits teams of victims against members of the infamous Slaughter family in tense cat-and-mouse gameplay.
Unlike traditional horror games, this title features a unique 3v4 structure, with three family members (including the iconic Leatherface) hunting four victims attempting to escape. Each character has specific abilities: victims can hide, unlock doors, and move stealthily, while the killers use brute force, tracking, and environmental traps.
Gameplay focuses on stealth, strategy, and survival. Victims must scavenge for tools, avoid noise, and manage stamina to escape through one of several possible exits. Killers must coordinate to control resources, block exits, and prevent escape. The environments—based on detailed recreations of locations from the original film—are dense, atmospheric, and deadly.
