Alter Echo is an action-adventure game developed by Outrage Games and published by THQ. Released for Xbox in 2003, the game is set in a futuristic world where psychics called shapers manipulate a substance known as Plast to change form and combat threats. The protagonist, Nevin, uses his powers to stop Paavo, a rogue shaper who has created a dangerous sentient Plast entity called EchoPlast.

Gameplay centers on Nevin’s ability to morph his Plast suit into three distinct forms—Sword, Gun, and Stealth—each providing unique abilities and combat styles. A time dilation mechanic allows players to slow time briefly, adding strategic depth to battles and movement.

Critics offered mixed reviews of the game. The combat system and visual design were praised for their innovation and style, but the game was also noted for its linear level progression, repetitive environments, and occasional backtracking. Despite these drawbacks, Alter Echo provided a unique action-adventure experience with its futuristic setting and morphing combat mechanics.
