BloodRayne is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Terminal Reality and published by Majesco Entertainment. Released for Xbox in 2002, the game is set in an alternate 1930s during World War II. Players control Rayne, a dhampir (half-vampire, half-human) agent working for the Brimstone Society, an organization dedicated to fighting supernatural threats. The storyline follows Rayne’s mission to stop occult forces aligned with the Axis powers.

Gameplay features fast-paced melee combat, acrobatic moves, and vampiric abilities that allow Rayne to perform brutal finishing moves and regain health by feeding on enemies. The game blends exploration with combat and platforming in dark, atmospheric environments ranging from Louisiana swamps to Nazi facilities.

The Xbox version was generally well received, praised for its engaging combat mechanics and gothic atmosphere. It runs at a stable 480p resolution and 30 frames per second, though some frame dips occur during intense sequences. The game’s character model of Rayne was detailed, though some supporting characters had less refined visuals.

A remastered version titled BloodRayne: ReVamped was released in 2021 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S with improved graphics and effects. However, some players reported technical issues such as crashes and freezing, especially on newer consoles, despite patches aimed at fixing these problems.
