Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon is a beat ’em up game developed by Ronin Entertainment and published by Universal Interactive. It was released in 2002 exclusively for the Xbox console.
The game follows Bruce Lee on a mission to rescue his kidnapped father and retrieve the mystical Golden Relic from the criminal organization Black Lotus. Players engage in hand-to-hand combat, utilizing various martial arts moves inspired by Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do philosophy. The game features over 100 motion-captured moves and multiple locations including Hong Kong, London, and San Francisco.
Despite the promising concept, the game received largely negative reviews. Critics pointed out issues with unresponsive controls, repetitive combat, problematic camera angles, and subpar graphics. Voice acting and music were also criticized. The game was nominated for “Worst Game on Xbox” at GameSpot’s Best and Worst of 2002 Awards.
