Genre: Music / Rhythm
Developer: Konami Computer Entertainment
Publisher: Konami
Year: 2005
System: Microsoft Xbox

Dancing Stage Unleashed 2 is a rhythm dance game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Hawaii and released for the Xbox in 2005. It is the European counterpart to Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2, offering the same core mechanics and features but with a soundtrack adapted for the European market. It builds on the foundation of the first Dancing Stage Unleashed with new content, improved gameplay options, and enhanced Xbox Live functionality.

Players use a dance mat to step in time with directional arrows that scroll across the screen, matching the rhythm of the background music. The game includes a variety of difficulty settings, from Beginner to Challenge, and features multiple play modes such as Workout Mode, Training, and Freestyle. It also supports multiplayer for up to four players, both locally and online.

The on-disc soundtrack contains over 70 songs, combining licensed European dance and pop tracks with original music from Konami’s BEMANI series. In addition to the built-in song list, players could download extra songs and content via Xbox Live, including new challenges and step charts. The game also supports online competitions, ranked leaderboards, and player statistics tracking.

The Xbox version runs in 480p with widescreen support and features full voice commentary and visual customisation options. It retains compatibility with dance mats and standard controllers, though the optimal experience is intended for mat use. It also introduces minor interface improvements and additional step chart variations compared to its predecessor.

Dancing Stage Unleashed 2 received generally favorable reviews. Critics praised its large song library, strong multiplayer functionality, and solid presentation. While not a dramatic departure from the first game, it was recognized for refining the experience and expanding the available content for European players.
