The game features all official riders, teams, and tracks from the 2004 MotoGP season, as well as a brand-new “Extreme Mode.” This mode introduces an alternate, fictional racing championship with custom bikes and tracks inspired by real-world locations, though not officially licensed. These tracks often take place in urban settings or countryside roads, offering a more arcade-style racing experience.
MotoGP 3 includes several gameplay options, such as Time Trial, Championship, Quick Race, and multiplayer modes via split-screen or Xbox Live. Players can unlock additional bikes, tracks, and visual upgrades by earning style points during races.
The game was released exclusively for the Microsoft Xbox and stands as one of the final MotoGP titles developed by Climax before the license was transferred to a different studio.
