Psychonauts is a platformer and action-adventure game developed by Double Fine Productions and published by Majesco Entertainment. Released in 2005 for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and Windows, the game features a unique blend of psychic powers, imaginative level design, and character-driven storytelling.

The player controls Razputin “Raz” Aquato, a young psychic who runs away from the circus to join a summer camp for psychic children. As Raz trains to become a Psychonaut—an elite group of psychic secret agents—he uncovers a sinister plot that threatens the minds of those at the camp. Much of the gameplay takes place within the minds of various characters, with each level reflecting their inner fears, obsessions, and personalities.

The Xbox version features varied gameplay that combines classic 3D platforming with psychic abilities such as telekinesis, pyrokinesis, levitation, and clairvoyance. Levels range from surreal landscapes to emotional and psychological representations of trauma, delivered with creativity and humor. The game includes voice acting, puzzles, collectible items, and numerous side quests.

Psychonauts received critical acclaim for its originality, narrative, and visual design, although it initially struggled commercially. The Xbox version holds a Metacritic score of 88/100.
