Sonic Mega Collection Plus is a compilation title developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. Released in 2004 for Xbox, PlayStation 2, and later for PC, this enhanced version of Sonic Mega Collection expands on the original GameCube release by including more titles and additional features.
The collection gathers a wide range of classic Sonic the Hedgehog games from the Sega Genesis era, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3D Blast, and Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine. It also features lock-on variations like Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Knuckles in Sonic 2. In addition to these, the “Plus” version includes several Game Gear titles such as Sonic Drift 2, Sonic Chaos, and Tails’ Skypatrol, bringing the total number of playable games to over 20.
