The Sims: Livin’ It Up is the European release of The Sims: Livin’ Large, the first expansion pack for the original The Sims. It expands the base game with new content, objects, and gameplay possibilities, aiming to increase variety and replay value for players managing virtual households. The expansion was released in 2000, following the success of the base game earlier that year.

The expansion introduces over 125 new objects, including furniture, decorations, and interactive items, as well as new careers such as Hacker, Slacker, and Paranormal. Players also gain access to additional architectural styles and building options, including more wall coverings, flooring, and design themes. These additions allow for greater customization of both Sims’ homes and their lifestyles.

Livin’ It Up also adds several new characters and NPCs, such as the Grim Reaper, a genie, and a tragic clown, each of which interacts with Sims in unique ways. Five new neighborhood types are included, enabling players to expand beyond the original map and create new communities for their Sims.

The European edition retains the same core features as its North American counterpart but was localized for multiple languages and rebranded under a different name. The expansion requires the original The Sims game to play and is compatible with later expansion packs, allowing content to be combined for a more varied gameplay experience.
