02: Pairs/Space Rendezvous/Logic is the second official entry in the Philips Videopac game lineup, offering three distinctive games in a single cartridge:
- Pairs: A classic memory match game (similar to “Concentration”), where one or more players take turns uncovering tiles to find matching pairs. The goal is to test and improve memory by matching all pairs with as few attempts as possible.
- Space Rendezvous: An action-based two-player space game where one participant controls a “mother ship” and the other a “space probe.” The probe must attempt to dock with the mother ship by maneuvering correctly through space. The mother ship can either avoid or help, depending on the game mode.
- Logic: A code-breaking puzzle game (inspired by “Mastermind”), where one player sets a secret code and the other attempts to guess it. After each guess, hints are provided indicating how many symbols are correct and in the right or wrong position.
This compilation offers a wide range of gameplay experiences—from concentration and logical deduction to speed and reflexes in a space setting. It’s a versatile cartridge, suitable for both solo and competitive two-player gaming.
