Genre: Strategy / Board Game
Developer: Ed Averett
Publisher: Philips
Year: 1979
Platform: Philips Videopac

Samurai, released as Philips Videopac 15 in Europe and titled Dynasty! for the Magnavox Odyssey² in North America, is a digital adaptation of the classic board game Reversi (also known as Othello). The game offers both single-player and two-player modes, with the option to play against the computer or another human opponent.

Gameplay revolves around strategic placement of pieces to capture and flip the opponent’s pieces on the board. The game includes a digital timing handicap designed to balance play between experienced and novice players, providing newcomers a better chance to compete against skilled opponents.

While the graphical and audio capabilities are modest, consistent with the era and platform limitations, the game is praised for faithfully replicating the classic Reversi experience. However, it did not achieve popularity comparable to similar games on competing consoles such as Atari.
