Floigan Bros.: Episode 1 follows the story of two brothers, Hoigle and Moigle Floigan, who live in a junkyard. Players control the intelligent younger brother Hoigle, who must help his large but simple-minded older brother Moigle gather parts to build a secret invention. The game is a mix of action and puzzle-solving with a strong emphasis on cooperation and character interaction.
The gameplay takes place in a fully 3D environment where the player explores the junkyard and surrounding areas, solving puzzles and fending off attacks from mercenary cats sent by the evil Baron Malodorous, who seeks to take the junkyard for himself. Interaction with Moigle is a core mechanic—players can play mini-games, calm him when scared, or even provoke him to unlock new behaviors and skills, which add depth and variety to the puzzles and challenges.
Floigan Bros. includes some online downloadable content leveraging the Dreamcast’s built-in modem, although much of this content was not released due to the early discontinuation of the Dreamcast. The game is known for its cartoonish humor, engaging dialogue, and fluid character animations, bringing life to its colorful world despite its relatively short playtime.
