Platform: Dreamcast

UEFA Striker (known as Striker Pro 2000 in North America) is a soccer video game that blends arcade-style gameplay with simulation elements. Developed by Rage Software, it features an officially licensed UEFA component, allowing players to engage with Euro 2000 qualifying matches and tournament play, although other competitions are presented under altered names due to licensing constraints.

The game offers a wide selection of teams, including national and club sides along with bonus teams. Players can customize squads, kits, and even rename cups or leagues. Core modes include friendly matches, knockout tournaments, leagues, and a “certification” mode based on skill tests that unlock additional content and challenges.

The Dreamcast version received average critical reception, generally perceived as a competent but unspectacular sports title. Reviewers appreciated the breadth of team selection and the UEFA tie-in, but noted that the presentation and gameplay mechanics failed to distinguish it from other soccer games of the era. The Dreamcast port preserved most features from the PlayStation release, with no significant platform-specific enhancements.

UEFA Striker stands as the final game in the long-running Striker series. A planned sequel titled UEFA 2001 was cancelled during development, making this entry the last official release under the franchise’s name. Though not widely celebrated, it remains a noteworthy Dreamcast sports title for collectors and fans of late-90s soccer games.
