Brain Dead 13 is an interactive movie video game developed and published by ReadySoft, released for the Sega Saturn in 1996. It is part of a series of full-motion video (FMV) games that gained popularity in the mid-1990s, following in the footsteps of titles like Dragon’s Lair and Space Ace.

In the game, players assume the role of Lance Galahad, a young computer expert who is called to fix a computer at a mysterious castle. Upon arrival, he discovers that the castle is filled with bizarre and dangerous inhabitants, including the mad scientist Dr. Nero Neurosis. The gameplay revolves around quick-time events where players must make split-second decisions to avoid various traps and hazards. Failure to act promptly results in comical and exaggerated death sequences, which are a hallmark of the game’s style.

The game’s narrative unfolds through a series of FMV sequences, with player choices influencing the progression and outcome. While the gameplay is linear, the inclusion of multiple paths and outcomes encourages replayability. The animation style is reminiscent of classic cartoons, characterized by vibrant visuals and over-the-top scenarios.
