Riglord Saga, released internationally as Mystaria: The Realms of Lore and as Blazing Heroes in North America, is a tactical role-playing game developed by MicroCabin for the Sega Saturn. It launched in Japan in 1995, with a Western release following in 1996. The game blends grand-scale strategy with character-driven RPG mechanics in a richly detailed fantasy world.

Players choose from eight different rulers, each with a unique storyline, personal followers, and unit specialties. The objective across all campaigns is to unite the continent of Legendra by conquering territories and defeating rival kings. Strategic planning between battles involves recruiting new units, forging alliances, and managing resources to advance each ruler’s quest for dominance.

Tactical battles feature pre-rendered sprites on polygonal backgrounds with detailed environmental elements. Up to 200 units can appear on the battlefield simultaneously, providing dynamic and visually impressive combat scenes. Players deploy formations, special attacks, and unit types in real-time engagements that demand both strategic foresight and adaptive tactics.

Critics and players praised the game for its ambitious scale, engaging scenarios, and replay value, particularly due to the varied storylines for each ruler. The localization by Working Designs added nuanced dialogues and quality-of-life improvements that enhanced its appeal in the West. Riglord Saga continues to be celebrated as one of the most distinctive and technically ambitious strategy RPGs on the Sega Saturn.
