Virtua Cop is a rail shooter developed by Sega AM R&D Dept. #2 and published by Sega Enterprises Ltd. for the Sega Saturn in 1995. It is a port of the 1994 arcade game and was among the first titles to use the Saturn’s graphics capabilities to render real-time 3D environments.

Players assume the roles of police officers Michael Hardy and James Cools, tasked with taking down a criminal syndicate in a fictional city. The game is played from a first-person perspective, and players use either a light gun or standard controller to aim and shoot at enemies while avoiding civilians to maintain score and health.

The game includes multiple levels, such as factories, banks, and office buildings, each culminating in challenging boss encounters. Virtua Cop also supports two-player cooperative gameplay, allowing friends to play simultaneously.

Graphically, Virtua Cop was notable for its detailed 3D character models and environments, as well as fluid animations. The game combines fast-paced shooting mechanics with strategic targeting, requiring players to react quickly to enemy movements and civilian placements.
