Year: 2012
Platform: PlayStation 3

Assassin’s Creed III is an action-adventure and stealth game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, released for the PlayStation 3 in 2012. It is the fifth main entry in the Assassin’s Creed series and concludes the modern-day storyline of Desmond Miles while introducing a new historical protagonist, Ratonhnhaké:ton (also known as Connor), during the American Revolutionary War.

Set in 18th-century North America, the game features large open-world environments including Boston, New York, and the frontier wilderness. Gameplay builds upon previous entries with improved combat mechanics, naval exploration, and dynamic weather systems. Players engage in parkour, stealth assassinations, hunting, crafting, and large-scale battles. The PlayStation 3 version includes exclusive content at launch, including four additional missions known as “The Benedict Arnold Missions.”

Assassin’s Creed III received generally positive reviews, with praise directed at its ambitious scale, historical detail, and naval combat. Some criticism was aimed at pacing and character development. The PS3 version was noted for its solid performance and access to timed-exclusive content, which was later made available on other platforms.

The game was released on multiple systems, including Xbox 360, PC, and later Wii U, but the PlayStation 3 version was among the first to offer the full experience with additional early-access missions.
